Ta Freakin Da!

I don't want to look at these 2345 yards again for a long time. Luckily the warp yarn for my blanket project is on backorder giving me the perfect excuse not to.

Some spinners are smart enough to track how long it takes them to do a project like this. I am smart enough NOT to. If I factored my time and knew that the blanket was worth the equivalent of $8,000 I probably would never use it. I don't know how long this project is going to take, but I do know the finished product will be priceless.

Tour de Fleece Challenge

I am so close to winning this thing I can taste the champaign!  I am on Team My Favorite Sheep this year. For those who don't know, the Tour de Fleece is a spinning challenge on Ravelry that occurs every year during the Tour de France. Each day the cyclists run, so do the spinners. Just like a lot of the cyclists each spinner is really only competing against their own personal best. My goal this year is to finish spinning the mountain of Shetland/mohair I purchased from Under the Son Farm many moons ago so that I can weave it into a throw. That ball of roving on the right is all I have left to spin. Ignore that wad of single ply next to it. That was one of those 5,000 school children watching me spin on the great wheel days. I grabbed it and RAN for my life at 5:00 p.m. without using the ball winder. (Seriously it was only a matter of time before they realized they had us outnumbered.)

I know I am going to finish this, but I am running into an obstacle. The motion used to wind the plied yarn onto the niddy noddy makes my shoulder sting, my face cringe and my mouth say bad words. I may need to buy some more bobbins for my wheel to store them on.
