My GG-Grandfather Levi Seigfried was a 5th generation farmer & blacksmith from Delaware, Ohio and was an Ord Sgt. & 1st Lieut. with the 96th OVI-Company F from that city. He was at Grant's Headquarters in Vicksburg, La and died of Erysipelas of head & face wounds and Dysentery and is buried in Vicksburg National Cem. Levi was awarded The Army Distinguished Service Medal of Honor. He was 31 years old and had three young children.
