Scuzbags

So. I have no Facebook or e-mail. I'm not entire sure that's a bad thing. But it seems a little weird. My only method of communicating with the world right now is this blog. It feels very one-sided. Kind of like my daily conversations with the cat.

Anyhoo, it appears the scuzbag hackers compromised my e-mail first. Then my Facebook account because I was stupid enough to use the same password for both. I you've done the same, please go change it now. I'll wait for you to come back.

(pause)

I've suspended both accounts while the security teams at both places track down the bad guys. It will be at least twenty-four hours before I can get back online. Seems to me Penelope from Criminal Minds would have had me up and running in minutes. She must not work there.

I hope they find the scuzbags and hang them by their toenails!

Thank goodness you can still access your blog ~ and through it, lots of other blogs! I'd go crazy if I couldn't 'connect' with people via the computer.

Let me clarify that: I'd go crazy but my house would be CLEAN.....

So sorry about your difficulties. I hope everything gets resolved in quick time. Yes, television makes us think things are so easy; especially crime solving! I've never had this happen, but it seems to be a widespread problem.
Another blogger I know had her pictures stollen from her blog and another lady was using them for her family. That is really weird!

So I take it you don't like the little joke I played on you? JK!

Sorry for your trouble. :(

I chatted with your scumbags live on FB, asking me for money because you got mugged in London and Mike hurt his head. When I said "forgive my skepticism but tell me how you know me", chat was promptly closed and your FB identity no longer existed.

Sorry about that, Diana. Funny thing is they contacted my daughter and asked for money. She said, "Yeah, um, it's usually the other way around so I KNOW you're not my Mom." LOL

HA! That's so true, Penelope can do just about anything, can't she? I'm stupid enough to use the same password for just about everything, guess I should go change those.

OMG - this is just awful! I'm so sorry. You just can't be too careful these days - though many of the precautions people should be taking, many people don't even know about!
Hope this is taken care of soon.
Will you get any of your original emails back?

You're not alone, Christine! We're here having a conversation with you, and sympathizing over your trials. I just can't get why hackers do what they do; seems to me if they put that much time and brain power into a legitimate career, they'd make a fine living.

How upsetting! I would go crazy without my email!! Dumb hackers!

Christine,

Can you get into your email account and just change the password? And check the Reply-To setting? Then take a look at the sent and recent incoming email?

I think if you wait around for hotmail(?) to do something, you may be waiting a long time.

Karen Anne,

Nope, can't get into my e-mail account, they changed the password. I've reported it to hotmail so in theory the account is now suspended. Same thing with Facebook.

HUGE Garcia fan!! And yes, I doubt either institution can afford to hire anyone that talented :( Hope you get things squared away soon!

Hmm, that looks like a different picture of you under the "About Me" header - are you sure this is you?

Ohhhhh... boyyyyy... I use way too many of the same passwords, and I'll take this as a warning! So sorry for your problems!

Yeah, that might cause me to have a few choice words and personal issues....I hope all works out;)

After several of my friends FB accounts getting hacked. I now change my passwords to everything once a month! A pain but helps! Hope they get things taken care of soon!

It was probably those people in London who wanted to send you money!

That's awful! I hope they get it cleared up quickly and thoroughly. Do you know how they got your password?
