The New Black

I’m counting the days until I can shear the girls. It is still a little early considering none of them are lambing this year so I’ll wait. But I’m getting awfully tired of looking at their filthy bodies.

Shirley here is supposed to be black. Not brown, not red. Black. Seems she enjoys spending her time in, on and around the mineral feeder (the minerals are red). It is temping to take her to the dog wash but I’m afraid her outfit might shrink and then her underwear would show.

LOL. You make my day when I am feeling a little down. Thank you.

Which reminds me of something I've always wondered! You need woolite or a dry cleaners to wash your woollen clothes - why doesn't wool shrink on sheep when they get wet!??? :)

Oh lordy, you and me both...you have seen my llama, Kai, lately right? You know, the one who has the powdered stall bedding embedded and matted in her fur so tightly from rolling in it that I can knock on her back and it sounds like wood?
She has also additionally color coordinated nicely with twigs, moss and straw.
Spring shearing is a mantra I'm holding dear to my heart... :-)
