At what point does it become an addiction? I feel it coming, and I am perfectly okay with it, I just want to be prepared. Maybe get one of those little dorm refrigerators for the loom room.
The alpaca shawl is off the loom; and fabulous, if I do say so myself. I saw a fellow reenactor with a similar shawl, the collar was tacked down and the ends of the shawl tacked together to make sleeves. It helped the shawl fit perfectly and kept it in place. I think I will try that and possibly shorten the fringe so I don’t set myself ablaze around the campfire.

Gorgeous!
Beautiful, good job Christine. Unless you have a bathroom close to the loom room I would skip the fridge, lol. You do need to get up and move around once in a while. But if it becomes an addiction it is a good one.
Lovely!!
What a lovely job you did with this shawl. It looks so warm and elegant!! I can see why you are succumbing to the addition.
Hugs,
Courtney
For making the shawl more of a shrug, would you mind sharing your dimensions? I love the idea! and, I think a mini refrig. is perfect - you don't want to have to leave for long or go far for refreshments!
Your shawl is beautiful and how neat to have something so special from your very own fiber pets.
Actually, this one isn't from my alpacas. I wanted to do a test run before I used my own yarn.
I measured my folded wingspan (from knuckles to knuckles)and came up with 59 inches, then from my neck to my (civil war) waist at 24 inches. You might want to make it wider to reach a modern waist.
Oh, my!! What a lovely piece of work. Can't wait to see what you do with your own fibers.
It's gorgeous! You should be very proud of yourself for making something so beautiful. And don't 'save it for special'....wear it and enjoy it every chance you get!
Woohoo! This is lovely!
Now you know why you've got all those critters in the backyard . . . to supply your 'habit'!
Beautiful!!!!
Christine!!!!!!!!! The shawl is beautimous!
You did a lovely job!! Should be very warm!
Wow!
Gorgeous. I want one, too.
Christine -- great work -- beautiful! You must be so excited. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your dimensions - sorry I didn't realize this wasn't with your extra special yarn but, still really lovely! :)
That's gorgeous!
That is beautiful! And I think turning it into a shrug-like item will make it perfect.
Gorgeous!!! You did a GREAT JOB!!!
Christine, that's just beautiful!
Christine it's beautiful! Looks like your beat was nice and even. Well done! Love the idea of making a "jacket" out of a shawl.
