A Little Quilt

It was all good, I was rolling right along with my progress until the border. Then all Hell broke loose. I don’t even want to discuss how many do-overs were involved, or how I ended up one-inch short on the border fabric. Just know that by the end of the night there was wine involved, and I concluded that Operating While Intoxicated could include my sewing machine, so I went to bed.

But it’s done. Er, well, the top is done. I’ll quilt it next week.

I can't see any oops from my galloping horse, so it must not exist.

It looks very nice. I've had many projects end short or not quite square. I tend not to be precise. I love those fog gloves in the earlier post. just right for working my camera.

How did you get around the one inch problem?

Remember, it's an offense against God or something to make something perfect :-)

fix that little inch problem???

The nine patch blocks in the corners were not supposed to be there. It should have been plain borders but I was an inch short. I could have tried a different fabric but I already had the side borders on so I invented the conerstones instead.

Lovely! Nice colors!
Are you quilting by machine or hand?

Christine said...

I'll quilt it by machine. I prefer hand quilting but there just aren't enough hours in the day to do them all that way.

What do you mean, wine and sewing machines don't mix?

It's a lovely quilt top, and that little inch will always be a conversation starter. Sorry about your SUI (sewing under the influence)...should have been working on a Drunkard's Path instead, and then it would have looked perfect!
