What's Bloomin'?

Iris, lots and lots of Iris. So many of the heirloom variety that they're not even trying to deliver the newspaper in the box any more. They just leave it near the flower bed in the yard. I love old fashioned Iris, particularly if they surround a mailbox. Mom had some around hers at the old farmhouse so I guess that must be why it just seems right to me.

This yellow variety is pretty too. You can certainly see it from a distance. I have two bunches of these that I didn't realize were this color until this year. They had almost been overtaken by weeds the year before we moved in.
Mix in a few of these and it's stunning.

But I have to say, I really love these two. All that digging and replanting last year was worth it.

The unusual color of this one will stop you in your tracks.

What's blooming in your garden?

I've got Iris fever too- they went nuts this year. But I only have Purple and white/lavendar.

your irises are beautiful! I have dark purple and light blue ones blooming. I only have a couple of iris plants but they've really given a show.

My columbine are blooming as well. I have light blue ones and purple/white ones. I think I saw a yellow one working on blooming.

I have dark maroon, purple, sunshine yellow, and blue bearded irises blooming! My roses have buds on them, too. Oh, and the snowball bush!

Those iris pictures just melt my heart. I love them.

We don't have any here but the lady who runs the local store has adopted us and wants to share cuttings and bulbs with us from her garden and yard. I'm so excited!

Anyway, thank you for posting the pictures!!!

Blessings!

Ooooohhhhh....very pretty! I love iris. Apparently so did someone who lived here before me, because giant yellow ones are planted all along the fence in the back yard. A few purple ones, too. My mom and I are planning to plant lots and lots more this fall. Climbing along my front screen porch is a rose my mom says is a Paul Scarlet. It's loaded with buds and just starting to bloom.
