Remembering Adelia & a Give-Away

I took a short break from my woolly friends one afternoon this week and ventured out to a quilt shop I had been meaning to visit for awhile, The Back Door. I can now safely say it's one of my favorites.

They have a beautiful selection of fabric, but what impressed me the most was their kits. They had GADS of kits to choose from. Far more than what they had listed on their website. And everything was decorated and presented so well it was truly inspiring. I had a very hard time choosing only one kit. But in the end I walked out of there with the book Remembering Adelia and a kit to make the orange peel wall hanging on the cover. It should make a nice take-along applique project.

After returning home I was shuffling things around in Sheville and noticed I must really, really like this Heritage Sampler pattern by Lori Smith. Yep, I seem to have bought it twice. That means for one of you lucky ladies out there if you leave a comment you'll be entered into a drawing to win this little jem for yourself. Heaven knows I'll be lucky to do this one once let alone twice!

Wow! I would love to win the give-away! It looks a little daunting, but I would save it for my first project in retirement which is in 13 months, 14 days and a few hours!

Isn't finding great quilt shops fun?

Love your posts and thanks for offering the give-away!

I have never made anything with that much applique, but would love to try it. I don't always comment, but I always read your posts. I love the pictures of the Golden Girls. Are you planning to learn to spin? Have a good evening. Winona

Oh good grief - now I have to check that shop out!

If I win you'll have to teach me applique. I've only done it twice and I taught myself. I'm sure there is an easier way to do it.

Isn't it annoying when you discover that you have bought a pattern, book or magazine twice, but how fortunate for one of us.

It would be easy to buy that Lori Smith pattern twice, it's so cute. The Back Door kit fabrics are sooooooo pretty.

I never win anything EVER, but that is beautiful so I'll enter anyway. :)

Don't feel bad about a double purchase, I have done it several times, only they were quilting books! Good deal for the authors though. I would love to win the pattern.

I don't really want you to enter me into your drawing, it would hardly be fair to the gals who comment on your blog on a regular basis, but I did want to pop in and say that I really, really enjoy reading what you write. Thanks for sharing with the world :-)

Wow, that is gorgeous. It is a little daunting, isn't it? I hope whoever wins blogs it so we can see how it goes!

Wow! I can see why you bought that quilt kit twice! It is simply beautiful. I was going through the area once, acutally I went out of my way a good hour to get to the The Back Door only to find out they weren't open. Talk about being disappointed! I will get there some day!

I really like Lori Smith's patterns and would love to win your extra.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT enter me in this giveaway. :) That quilt is gorgeous but if I dare get even one more pattern I fear I'm going to turn into a "hoarder" rather than a quilter! blessings, marlene
