It was Blanche in the barn with a candlestick.
Seems she’s never gotten over that whole Spring Shearing incident so this morning when I tried to trim her hooves, she tried to kill me. It has now swollen to encompass my entire forehead and has turned a lovely shade of purple.
I’m now officially brain damaged. (As opposed to the rumored suspicions of anyone who has ever read this blog.)

Yikes! That looks like it hurts. Hope it's better soon.
Owww. Hope it doesn't hurt as much as it looks.
I looked up concussion because of the FB question. Contrary to what I had thought, it doesn't necessarily involve losing consciousness.
If I were you, I'd nobble off to the ER just to be safe. Remember Natasha Richardson.
OUCH. Take care of yourself. I know from experience ( not so much myself, but from my kids) that if the swelling is going OUT that is a good sign, but it may not be a bad idea to go have it checked out. Shame on Blanche.

I'm so sorry you got clobbered. I hope it heals quickly.
Does Blanche understand consequences?. . .
A bird in the hand may be worth two in the bush but a smack to the head is worth a closer shave~
The ole trimming of the hooves gambit, most often fatal, you got off easy.
We are not looking forward to attempting to trim the hooves here either.
wow, I thought I hated having my feet touched. I guess I could be worse. I'll have to let my husband know I am not so bad after all. But seriously, you be careful. Make sure someone is keeping a close eye on you. That looks like it really hurts. I think I would use it as a "get out of work for one day card." hope you feel better soon. Lisa
Dang she really clobbered you a good one. Ice will be your friend for a little while.
As we all suspected... ;-).
Oh, bless your heart, er, ummm, head! You really got whacked! You can even see the hoofprint! Maybe Blanche needs some Valium next time!
Holy smokes! Maybe you can hang on to the swelling and bruising until Sunday and work this somehow into an awesome Halloween costume? :-)
Is there a lesson to take away from this? Wear a helmet next time?
