After a week of above average temperatures the snow and ice has finally melted.

Everyone is enjoying the break from winter in their own way.

Willa seems to prefer rolling around in the crunchy leaves.

But I don’t think anyone is happier than Blackbeard and his merry band of wenches.

In fact, I saw Bertha skipping across the pasture shouting “We’re free, we’re free!”

What? You’ve never seen a chicken skip before?

It could happen.

That is a sight for sore eyes. I can't wait to set the animals free from their winter quarters. Your chickens must definitely be loving it!

After 1-2 weeks of no snow, now it is snowing again. Somehow this winter seems more wearing, for some reason.

Time to order those two rose bushes I have in mind, and check on my seed supply.

Christine,
I hope you are NOT getting snow today! We just have rain...a LOT of rain here in southern IN.
We had some wonderful sunshine yesterday and I hiked at Brown County State Park. YEHAW.

That's how Emma the Calico Queen felt when I finally let her outsie 2 days ago! Brownish grass instead of snow, although she did have to tiptoe around a few low snow mounds. But she enjoyed rolling around!!!
