I have successfully finished my first week at Conner Prairie and can honestly report that I am humbled and even more excited now than ever before to be part of such a great organization. I cannot wait for the grounds to open next weekend! Not only do I get to play with newborn lambs, I also get to milk a cow and spin on a great wheel. BEST JOB EVER!
If you haven’t been to Conner Prairie in a while, you really should go again. Things have changed. Events in April you may be interested in include the Sheep to Blanket weekend April 13-15 where you might see me shearing a sheep by hand. Or, if you are up for it, the award winning Follow the North Star program will run April 13-14, 20-21 & 27-28.
Civil War days will be May 19-20 and there will be a grand re-opening of Prairietown June 9-10. There is always something to do or experience, so come on out.

I might have to come see that! ;-) Seriously, sounds very fun. A good friend's daughter worked there every summer through school and LOVED it. Neat place.
Wish I lived closer! Would love to visit, and it sounds like one of those dream 'jobs' that come along every so often. Fun summer ahead for you. :-)

I am sooo jealous of your new job!
I have never heard of this! Thank you for sharing. It's always nice to learn something new!
Have you ever milked a cow? I may come just to film that!
I'm so happy for you! It's not often that someone is lucky enough to have a job that they really and truly love.
You do have the best job ever! I am very happy (and a bit envious) of you.
If gas prices lower - and my job holds out - we just may come down there sometime this summer.
There is nothing better than an active open-air museum showing history as it was...
oh! So what was the grand reopening of Prairie Town all about?? We haven't been back since we had the new baby right after Civil War Days last year( a bit busy here). Besides the barn, Prairie town is our fave thing there so I am very curious!
