While Nanny and I have been hard at it baking bread and attending quilt shows, the men folk have been working away on the barn. I'm pleased to announce the arrival of barn doors! Hallelujah!
The guy's even built them all fancy-like with dutch doors and everything.
They've also finished putting on the battens.
And re-hung the huge old doors on the other side with new hinges.
Now we can keep all the little critters, and wandering elephants for that matter, out of there. 'Cause you know those elephants can be a real nuisance here in Indiana.

The barn looks great! Have you been following Jen's posts on the quilt block images on various barns in southeastern Wisconsin? Your barn would look cook with a quilt block painted on it. Check out her pictures.

The barn is WONDERFUL !! Isn't a blessing to have a man who can build things? Have a great week! :)
Wow! That looks amazing! What a special barn AND functional!
The bread looks terrific too:)
If I were to live my life over again, I'd have tagged along with my Dad when he did stuff like that. Then I'd have a bunch of skills that were instead acquired by trial and error and not yet up to snuff in many ways.
Soooo when does the quilt block get installed?? :)
What a darling barn! Will be so cozy this winter (and cute ;-).
Your barn is really coming along - it is beautiful!
Beautiful looking and sturdy too, the barn doors look Great! There's something about battens too that I absolutely love - I can't explain it.
"Close the barn door" is something my husband's grandpa used to say to him when he was young. 'cracks me up right now because I'm thinking about zippers un-zipped.
Thanks for sharing such great pics.
It's just wonderful!! Lucky you to have a crew like that. Paint or just age naturally?
