"Ugh, Cave Woman Make Yarn"

I'll bet the first woman to spin yarn was quite pleased with herself when she was finished. I certainly feel like beating my chest and holding it up in the air for all to see. Er wait, cave women probably didn't beat their chests... oh, I know, they stomped their feet. Yeah, I feel like stomping my feet, one hand on my hip the other grasping my masterpiece and waving it about for all to witness. I made my very first yarn. I spun something useful out of a big ball of fluff. Little ol' me. Can you believe it?

It was a painful process. This batch of Shetland roving did not want to spin at all, hence why it was on the spindles for so long, but the next batch is spinning like hot butter.

A monster is born. Mwah, ha, ha, ha...

LOVE IT! :) Congrats! You're ahead of me. I've got a spindle and a wheel sitting ready for me, and I've yet to either find the time, or the want to get going...Have plenty of roving and top waiting for me too! *sigh* One of these days...

I love it. I can totally relate. I am even proud when I bake cookies from sugar and flour--there's something primal creating useful things from scratch.

From one cavewoman to another: It's okay to beat your chest when you do something that great. I'm in awe!

I very recently learned to spin, too. I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I am still new enough that every skein I make amazes me and I show them all off. I sound like a kindergartener "Look at what I DID!!" Have fun!

I treid to spin a couple of weeks ago & gave up. Then I went to a friends to try her wheel, it was a little easier. Tried my spindle again last night & I think Iam going to get the hang of it!

Yours looks great!!!!
