I chose that one because it did not specify what type of gym. I have to admit paying ridiculous fees to watch other sweaty people walk a treadmill indoors while I wait my turn does not appeal to me. So today, I signed up to join Mother Nature's Gym.
Just three blocks from my house is the entrance to a beautiful walking park. The path runs between an open field...
and follows the river through the woods.
I find this view much more appealing than a regular gym.
I did a fast walk for 25 minutes before taking advantage of one of the many river-view benches for a quick break before walking back.
I will need to remember to bring a slice of bread for the ducks next time.
As well as my big girl camera. These phone shots just did not do Mom's Gym and her furry membership justice. This place may save my sanity.

What I would give for a gym like that! Gorgeous; who wouldn't be motivated to get out and move?
What a wonderful place to walk!
Ooh, I would kill for a path like that!
Good for you! I chose the gym option last week, now I'm wishing I had your option. :(
Your gym is much nicer than the kind with four block walls.
If that gym was near me, that would be the one I'd join. So beautiful!!
On our insurance, after the 657 questions and after they want me to join a gym they have the nerve to call. I wont repeat what I say but it comes down to...I pay premiums for my insurance, stay in your place. I will call you when I need you. I like your gym so much better than those sweaty bacteria factories.
Oh, I love it!! I'd even go to a gym like that!!!
Love that trail! What a great place to walk. Lucky you!
Plus, no muzak blaring in at a zillion decibels.
Those are beautiful...I love the front porch. Reminds me of my Great grandfathers house. Happy Thanksgiving.
Once while visiting this trail, my brother and sister in law and I were up to hijinks in the corn field (scary pictures, etc.) and we heard the jogger who had passed us calling out. First we thought, Gleeps! Is she yelling at us (guilty consciences, clearly). But she had been confronted by a very aggressive raccoon and couldn't get past.
In the end, we threw sticks at it, and it kept advancing, so we put our bikes between it and the lady, got her past, then rode like H#LL to get away from it.
So take some large rocks or a spray bottle of water with you, just in case.
Geez. Your porch is absolutely lovely!

Have missed you - hope all is well at your house and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
