“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.”
-- Kahlil Gibran
My Sister-In-Law, Cathy, has left the hospital and moved into hospice care. It is difficult for us to understand why someone so innocent must be taken from us so young. However a friend once explained to me that it makes sense when you realize that the innocent are chosen because they have already earned their wings. The rest of us remain here because we need to keep trying.

Hospice care is such a blessing! I have a dear friend who is a hospice nurse and the level of care and compassion is heartwarming. Cathy will be at peace soon ~ My wish for you and your family is that you can also find peace in the good memories.
To me, the greatest gift that anyone can receive is the gift of knowing that they are loved. I suspect that Cathy has been given that gift, many times...
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Yes indeed, Amen.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry.
Hugs to you from Oregon, Christine. My thoughts are with Kathy, you and your family.
Your quote from Kahlil Gibran is profound and moved me to tears.
So profound and so true - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family - God bless!
Yes, that quote is beautiful, just like your sister-in-law. We're all hurting with you.
Yes, the gift of being loved is a truly great gift. I am sure from your posts that she knows she is loved by all of you.
A Pastor once told me (yes a Pastor) that God moves the good people to his Kingdom at an early age and leaves the mean ones to live to a ripe old age. I don't know if this is true but I have seen so many good, kind, loving people taken at an early age.
Cathy will receive wonderful care at the hospice, the nurses are a blessing.
My prayers are with Cathy and all of you. God bless you all.
You and all who love her are in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, that is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry.
I am glad you had us send her cards.:)
So sad to here your sister-in-law is in hospice. I will pray for her and her family.
Aw.
I have been thinking about Cathy and wishing her the best possible state of being.
I'll be thinking about you all, during this very hard time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
It is so hard to lose a member of your family.
This is my first stop on your blog and I am so sorry to read this news about your sister in law. It's nice to know that Hospice is caring for her. They are just THE BEST angels disguised as people on this entire earth.
Hugs,
Di

I'm so sorry to hear about Cathy, but hospice is a wonderful thing. I love your Kahlil Gibran quote and am going to put it in my album with Sean's photos and things.
What beautiful thoughts in a very difficult time. I wish you all the best.
Christine, I am glad you have so many sweet and loving memories to get you thru the coming days. Just remember she will always be in your heart. Take care.
